Why We Want You?
Tame Valley Wetlands aims to create a wetland landscape, rich in wildlife and accessible to all, in the vicinity of the rive Tame between Castle Vale and Tamworth. We need you to help our staff with day-to-day jobs and to keep our office running smoothly. The tasks you will perform will vary but will include filing, data entry and typing, printing, binding and photocopying… You will play a crucial role in keeping our records up to date and helping the team to achieve their objectives. We also need you to help maintain a high standard of volunteer management. You will register new volunteers, maintain our records and resources, help us promote vacancies… There will be plenty of database and spreadsheet work and various communication work to keep you busy.
What’s In It For You?
Be part of a small, friendly team of like minded people and be involved with a new and exciting project. This is a chance to improve your administration skills and keep at the top of your game. You will gain employability skills and a valuable insight into the workings of several British conservation bodies and charities, including the RSPB and Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. This is an excellent chance to make a genuine contribution to wildlife conservation and the local communities in the Tame Valley.
The Skills/Talents You’ll Need
You’ll need to be confident using computers, especially MS Excel and Word. You will also need good organisational skills and an eye for detail. You’ll need to be a good communicator, happy to pick up the phone or write emails when needed.
By registering as a TVW volunteer you will be registered as an RSPB volunteer. All the training necessary and background information will be provided and since you’ll be giving up your time, it’s only fair that we offer to reimburse your travel expenses (up to 20 miles).
