Rain Garden at High Meadow School

Su, our Community and Volunteers Officer, has been busy with our Love Your River Cole trainees, creating a rain garden at High Meadow Community School in Coleshill. The garden was based on some wonderful designs drawn by the pupils at High Meadow.

A rain garden is a designed to collect rainwater run-off from roofs and other surfaces. The plants then make the most of the water, creating a wildlife-friendly, low-maintenance garden.

This work is part of our Love Your River Cole project, funded by the Environment Agency and ERDF through Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council’s Small Habitats Grant. Read more about the project here.
